ZAHRA KHALFAN

MA Clin Psychology

Thank you for taking the time to visit my site to learn more about who I am and my approach when working with clients:

I have been working in the Mental Health field and advocating for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health for over a decade. I work with families, children, adolescents, and adults to explore a deeper understanding of one’s feelings/ symptoms. My educational background is in Clinical Psychology and I received my Undergraduate Degree from Stony Brook University and my Masters Degree from Adelphi University in New York. I have a post master’s training certification in Parental Guidance and Education from Adelphi University. I am currently a candidate of the Canadian Institute for Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program (CICAPP) where I am receiving specialized training in child and adolescent psychotherapy. I have worked with individuals and families who have dealt with severe trauma and have experience with a range of psychopathology. I provide assessment and treatment and take a holistic approach when working with my clients. I am a BIPOC therapist who tries to understand the many layers that shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. When working with children the modality that I use is play therapy and treatment is collaborative with parents.
